What We Collect

When you use the Scout Wellness Consult on pawsd.ai, we collect information you provide about your dog — including their name, breed, size, gender, and details about their anxiety or behavioral concerns. If you create an account, we also collect your email address.

We store your conversation with Scout, the personalized wellness plan generated from that conversation, and any journal entries or feedback you provide about your dog's progress. We also collect your browser type, operating system, and approximate geographic region (country and state) to improve the Scout experience. We do not store your IP address.

How We Use Your Data

• Generate personalized wellness plans based on your dog's anxiety profile
• Track your dog's progress through the wellness journal and treatment outcomes
• Send you relevant email communications (welcome emails, anxiety tips, product recommendations, and check-ins)
• Review conversation quality to ensure Scout provides accurate and helpful advice
• Improve the Scout consult experience

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate pawsd.ai:

• Anthropic (Claude API)— Your conversation with Scout is processed by Anthropic's Claude AI to generate responses and wellness plans. Anthropic retains API logs for up to 30 days and does not use API data for model training. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics — We use Google Analytics 4 in cookieless mode (consent mode with storage denied) to understand how visitors use our site. This collects anonymous, modeled usage data including pages visited and interactions, without setting any tracking cookies.
• Server-Side Conversion Tracking — We send anonymized conversion events (such as completing a consult or subscribing to emails) to Meta and TikTok via their server-side APIs to measure ad effectiveness. These events include your IP address and user agent for attribution but do not use cookies or client-side tracking pixels.
• Resend— We use Resend to deliver transactional and marketing emails. Your email address and dog's name are shared with Resend for email personalization.
• Affiliate Networks — Product links on pawsd.ai may be affiliate links through Amazon Associates and other programs. Clicking these links shares referral data with the respective affiliate network.

Data Storage & Retention

Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the United States. Session data is also stored locally in your browser's localStorage until you clear it or delete your account.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Conversation logs used for quality review are retained for up to 90 days and then deleted. Accounts inactive for more than 12 months may be purged after notice. Conversations sent to Anthropic's Claude API are retained by Anthropic for up to 30 days per their data retention policy. Anonymized analytics data (page views, event counts) is retained indefinitely. Deletion of your account removes all personal data from our systems, but does not affect data already transmitted to third-party analytics or advertising partners.

Email Communications

If you subscribe to email updates, you may receive a welcome email, anxiety management tips, product recommendations, and periodic check-ins about your dog's progress. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time and we will stop sending marketing emails within 10 business days.

Transactional emails (such as sign-in magic links) cannot be unsubscribed from as they are required for account functionality.

Deleting Your Data

You can delete individual plans from the plan view page. If you have an account, you can permanently delete your account and all associated data — including dogs, plans, journal entries, and email subscriptions — from your account settings. Account deletion is immediate and irreversible.

Data Export

To request a copy of your data, email us at support@pawsd.ai. We will provide your data in a machine-readable format within 30 days.

Cookies & Tracking

pawsd.ai uses cookies only for authentication (session tokens), which are strictly necessary for account functionality. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. Google Analytics operates in cookieless mode, and ad conversion tracking is handled entirely server-side.

Children

pawsd.ai is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of pawsd.ai after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
